In 2018, the SGSA was commissioned by FIFA to conduct a safety review at stadiums in Angola. The work followed a tragedy at the Estádio 4 de Janeiro in the province of Uige in February 2017, where 17 spectators lost their lives During the visit, the SGSA team conducted safe capacity calculations at three stadiums: Estádio 4 de Janeiro Estádio Dos Coqueiros, and Estádio 11 de Novembro In addition, the team make recommendations to improve safety as well as providing strategic insights into how safety, security and customer service can be improved across Angolan Football. The report was submitted to FIFA and the Football Association of Angola for consideration.
