Tim Burgin

Inspector

Tim Burgin joined the SGSA in April 2020 as an Inspector for clubs in the South West and Wales.

Prior to joining the SGSA, Tim had a successful career in the construction industry spanning over 30 years, initially as site contractor and for the last 20 years in both local authority building control and most recently as a national approved inspector.

His role in building control has seen him involved in a wide variety of schemes, often involving complex design solutions and fire engineered strategies. Projects include the creation of state of the art research and development facilities for a well-known innovative vacuum cleaner manufacturer, the re-development of a large South London university complex, numerous large town centre redevelopments and multiple schemes for a number of national retailers and outlets.

In addition to Tim’s club responsibilities, he provides technical support to the Inspectorate.  He is a committee member for the British Standards Institute, and as such is part of the CEN Committee on Spectator Safety.  He is also a committee member for the Advisory Group on Temporary Demountable Structures (AGOTS).
