Carl Krueger

Inspector

Carl Krueger joined the SGSA in 2023. He is responsible for inspecting clubs in the North West (Merseyside and Lancashire).

He is also the SGSA Lead for policing issues.

Prior to joining the SGSA, Carl served for 30 years in Merseyside Police, attaining the rank of Chief Superintendent, and specialising in football, public order and events policing throughout his career. For 13 years he was Police Silver Commander for Merseyside Premier League Clubs in domestic and European Competitions and was also an England Silver Commander.

After leaving the police in 2016, Carl was appointed as Head of Operations for Tranmere Rovers FC where his role included the management of the stadium and training facilities, representing the club at Safety Advisory Groups and overseeing matchday operations. Alongside this role, Carl was appointed as a Safety and Security Adviser for the Football Association, working with Liverpool FC and others on their Champions League campaigns which has included 4 European finals.

He has recently returned from a four-year contract with the Ministry of Interior in Qatar where he was part of a small team responsible for training officers and staff from Police and Military for safety, security and service roles in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Carl has a Masters Degree in Management (Risk Management) from the University of Liverpool and NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety Management.
