The SGSA Conference 2024 takes place on Tuesday 14 May at the Emirates Old Trafford.

The overview of the programme is available below.

Breakout sessions will include:

The event will start at 10am, with registration from 9am.

The day will finish at 5pm.

Introducing the new SGSA Chief Executive – an interview with Giles Smith

Discussion panel: How sports grounds can balance safety requirements of different audiences.

Sports grounds are no longer used for one sport or team only, and beyond what it was originally designed for.  Grounds are now multi-use and/or multi-team venues.  This panel will include different perspectives, including commercial, safety, local authority and event promoter.

An in-depth session on Zone Ex, facilitated by Ken Scott MBE. This hour-long discussion will go through some of the key topics and themes related to Zone Ex, including the latest on Martyn’s Law.

Plenary 3 – Service

Implementing the fan-led review – an introduction to the incoming football regulator – Martyn Henderson OBE, Interim Chief Operating Officer.

Discussion panel. the importance of the service needs of fans.

This panel will consider why service is such an integral part of safety, and good practice that works across the country.
