SGSA Strategy 2030 launched

The SGSA has today announced the launch of its ambitious new strategy – Strategy 2030 – setting its priorities  for the next five years.

With a focus on transforming public service delivery, reinforcing regulatory oversight, and leading innovation, the SGSA aims to redefine and reinforce safety standards across the sports sector.

At the heart of Strategy 2030 are three core objectives:

  • Delivering  a modern and effective regulation system
  • Being the world leader in sports grounds safety
  • Achieving operational excellence across the organisation

Guided by the following  principles, the strategy commits to  a targeted, data-driven approach, harnessing evidence to inform  decisions.:

  • Be a targeted, proportionate and evidence-based regulator, using data and analytics to make informed, transparent decisions.
  • Deliver our activities effectively and independently, using resources appropriately to maximise efficiency.
  • Be agile, adaptable and collaborative, supporting innovation and growth in the live sports sector and responding quickly to emerging safety risks and lead the sector in how to address these.

Giles Smith, Chief Executive of the SGSA, said: “The SGSA exists to help ensure the safety of people attending live sports. This has been our mission for over 35 years, and continues to be our focus.

“Through our Strategy 2030, we will leverage our principles of evidence-based regulation and operational excellence, ensuring that we not only adapt to challenges but also take advantage of opportunities to support growth in the sector and elevate the standards of safety for fans worldwide.”

As the sports landscape evolves, the SGSA’s forward-thinking strategy promises to lead the way in safeguarding fans and raising the bar in sports ground safety for years to come.
