Sue Storey has been an Inspector with the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA) since 2012.
Sue is a qualified Emergency Planner and a member of the Emergency Planning Society. Prior to joining the SGSA she was Head of Service at Nottinghamshire County Council, where she worked for 28 years. During that time, she chaired the Safety Advisory Groups for Nottingham Forest Football Club, Mansfield Town Football Club and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. She was a member of various Local Authority groups for safety at sports grounds including the Core Cities Group and lectured at the Emergency Planning College (EPC) and Coventry University. She worked on the Cricket Disorder Review Group in 2004 and chaired a Local Authority Group looking at the challenges of international cricket from a local authority perspective.
Within the SGSA, Sue is an Inspector for East Midlands and Humberside Football Clubs. She is also the lead Inspector for cricket and works closely with the England Cricket Board (ECB) and cricket clubs across the country on safety issues. Alongside this, Sue also leads on sustainability in sports grounds, looking at the important issue from a safety perspective.
